Biographies of our experienced sailing instructors.

"I joined the WW team in 2008 as an instructor mainly teaching mono-hulls. After a season though, I was hooked on the cats and over the past 6 years have gained considerable experience especially on the Hobie16! By 2009 I was asked to be the chief instructor which was a fantastic opportunity for me and I've been in this role ever since, working with Joe Bennett (centre manager for 18 years in Vassiliki) from whom I have learnt so much. To now have set up and be running the brand new WW centre with an elite team of instructors is an amazing opportunity, and between myself and the guys we are sure that you'll have an excellent holiday experience that will have you coming back for more.

Before WW I worked on a muddy puddle in Cheshire for 4 summers teaching sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. Following this I went out to Australia for 2 seasons, also working as a multi-activity instructor and started to use my Senior instructor ticket. Through colleagues out there I ended up on the WW doorstep.

I started kayaking and sailing around the age of 12 and windsurfing by 16. Since learning to windsurf I've been in the industry every summer and loved every minute of it.

I'm really looking forward to introducing you to the sailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding that happens every day on the beautiful Indian Ocean."

Yannick has about 12 years experiences on water ( working on big catamaran and traditional Mauritian sailing boats). He had some experience in small cats and windsurf when he started 3 years ago to work for Wildwind and one word AWESOME!! This summer Yannick was at WILDWIND in Greece where he made his lessons and examination to become a professional RYA Dinghy Instructor. Being at WILDWIND in Greece was such great experience for him. Now he is looking forward for WILDWIND guests to inspire them for sailing and to teach them to become a professional sailor.
And Yannick a great teacher at our WILDWIND children sailing camp. He loves to teach children and he is already well known on the island from many children which made their first step on the water with him.
He is looking for you to share his knowledge with him, to have fun with you and to make your sailing holidays on the turquoise sea in the bay of Mont Choisy unforgettable!!

And beside working for WILDWIND Yannick is doing together with Giovanni several times a week in the evening hours great fire show in Mauritius. Yannick is well-known in Mauritius as the greatest fire spitter of Mauritius
Have a look under:

Every Friday evening he is during with his team the fire show at the beach of Trou aux Biches just a few steps from WILDWIND. And the WILDWIND guests like to go there and to see the great show.

Steward has 20 years of experience on the sea around Mauritius (working on big cats and small Pirogue, the traditional Mauritian sailing boat) And he was windsurfing and Laser sailing since couple of years.
He is already working for 1 year for Wildwind. Most of the time you will see him on the WILDWIND rescue boat looking after our guests on the water and being on their side when they need any help.
Beside this it is a challenge for him to improve his sailing skills, learn to sail with all the WILDWIND boats and to start to teach sailing in the beautiful bay of Mont Choisy!!
